Letter of Acceptance Not Lived For

A book publisher sent a letter of acceptance of a manuscript written by a school teacher. They were ready to offer this writer a contract and publish her book. The letter remained unopened at the doorstep of the home of the author. She did not pick up her mail.
It is because the woman passed away four months before inside of her residence. A concerned neighbor aided in the discovery of her body. How sad; police found no evidence of foul play. There are many unknown authors, should anyone live or die unknown?
